Today is a sad day for me and the citizens of Washington with the approval of Referendum 71, allowing 'everything but marriage' for homosexuals (and any couple older than 62, this latter part was only put in to garner sympathy to swing the older voters of our state). It's just one step closer to 'same-sex marriage' which is the ultimate goal of the gay legislator which drafted the 'everything but marriage' bill. People say they want 'equal rights' because they are different then the majority and thus need 'protection' from the majority. However, because the majority of the state's population now lives near/in Seattle, the referendum passed due to the California's 'modern-thinking, free-spirited' generation that relocated to our state during the course of the last decade. Instead of voting about 'equal rights', why are not there more debates and focus on the harms caused within and by a homosexual community? A quick google shows a multitude of "studies proving homosexual people have high hiv rates and suicide rates" as well being harmful to raising children.
I cannot get this to work
The argument has been distorted by the media. The Bible states that practicing homosexuality is an abomination, not the person so inclined. So simply put, no sin, no foul. Most of us do not care that you were born, hatched, influenced by surroundings or however you got to the point you are, we just know that the act is wrong. It will never produce a viable child, the reason marriage as an institution exist, nor will it ever change the words that millions of us hold to be true and self evident. We all have a cross to bare and if you are homosexual and want to see the face of God, then you will need to abstain from the act that is considered an abomination by God and most people, that is the price of admission. If you cannot pay it, then you choose the consequences, but so far no one has explained why they deserve all of the benefits that child producing couples have. Accepting your problem is the first step to dealing with it. Find out what God wants from you and quit trying to make him accept you the way you are, no, not a homosexual, but a practicing sinner. The act is a sin and repulsive to a vast majority of people in this country, that is why 39 times they have voted to NOT allow homosexuals to get or be legally anything but citizens. Yet the small minority of people that make up this group will try and try and try until either it is passed or vilified to the point of hate crimes, also a sin. Learn the difference between the sin and the person, they are separate and the person is worthy of the Kingdom, the sinner is not unless he quits and fights the urge until the fight is over. If it was easy, we could all do whatever we wanted and suffer no consequences, but it is what separates us from the animals.
