We love it when the entire Automattic team gets together – it gives us an opportunity to hang out and work side-by-side. During our last meetup in San Francisco, fellow Aussies, Beau Lebens and Alex Shiels, sat down to brainstorm some ways to improve our Akismet spam filter integration in IntenseDebate. A short-while later they cranked out a completely reworked integration that has drastically improved the accuracy of our spam filtering.
If you haven’t already, please make sure you enable Akismet in your IntenseDebate account at http://intensedebate.com/edit-site-moderation.

Please give us a shout at support@intensedebate.com if you continue to encounter spam issues. Thanks!

Yesterday we identified and corrected a temporary bug with our email notification system. The issue prevented new comments from being adding to our email queue, and emails notifications were not sent for around a 12 hour period. We’ve updated our email systems to optimize performance, and to prevent this from occurring again.
Missed email notifications are being sent now and should be caught-up within the next couple of hours. Sorry for the inconvenience – we appreciate your patience.

Ah spring time… it’s definitely in full swing: trees are greening, days are getting longer, NHL playoffs are here (Go Red Wings!), and Automatticians and WordPress enthusiasts alike are flocking in their annual migration West to San Francisco for some good old-fashioned geekery. Yep, I’m talking about the 4th annual WordCamp San Francisco this weekend at the Mission Bay Conference Center.
In case you’re not familiar with it:
WordCamp is a conference that focuses on everything WordPress. WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users like you. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. WordCamps are open to WordPress.com and WordPress.org users alike.
So if you’re around this weekend and planning on heading to WordCamp, we’d love to meetup. Drop us a line in the comments below or on Twitter: we’re @mkoenig, @jfox85, @isaackeyet, @beaulebens, and of course @intensedebate. I’ll also be presenting a lightning session on Improving Your Comments with IntenseDebate, so be sure to check that out!
If you can’t make it to WordCamp but are in the San Francisco area, we’ll be in town for the next two weeks and we’re always looking to make new friends.

The IntenseDebate CommentLuv Plugin is back in action. We temporarily disabled the plugin after it came to our attention that there was a service issue which caused a JavaScript error that prevented IntenseDebate from working properly.
Hats off to the Andy and the CommentLuv team for their hard work to resolve the issue quickly. CommentLuv should be re-enabled automatically for your site, but please check your plugin settings at http://intensedebate.com/plugins. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The IntenseDebate CommentLuv Plugin is currently encountering a service connection issue that is interfering with our comment system. We’re in contact with the team at CommentLuv and they’re working to resolve the problem. We have temporarily disabled the CommentLuv Plugin until they’re able to get it back up and running. We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience. We’ll post an update as soon as it’s fixed.
