It’s New Feature Week at Intense Debate!

Tags:

What can I say? We’re on a roll right now! Everyday we’re thinking up innovative ways to improve your commenting experience, and everyday the Intense Debate community is submitting new awesome feature ideas. To top it off, our Intense Debate developers have somehow managed to keep up with all of this obsessive enthusiasm! What we’ve got now is a bunch of new Intense Debate features to introduce to you. In fact, I’d say that we have a plethora! (such a great word…I never get to use it.)

It wouldn’t be cool of us to slowly release these features over the next couple of weeks and deprive you of their incredible commenting power. So instead we’re just going to open the gates and release new features each day this week!

Today’s new feature for the Intense Debate commenting system is the shiny new Subscribe Menu. Now you can subscribe to comments through a variety of common RSS readers such as Google Reader, Netvibes, and Newsgator.

Using our new Subscribe Menu, you can subscribe to either the comments of a blog post or to the entire blog. Plus there’s a direct link to the RSS feed.

What do you think? Got any suggestions on the services you’d like to see in the Subscribe Menu? Are there some services that shouldn’t be there at all? Drop us a note at feedback@intensedebate.com, or post a comment below.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to learn about additional new features.

  1. Thanks! We're on it!

  2. Maybe I'm unique but I don't think an rss reader is quite the right model for tracking a single comment thread. How about comments by email?

  3. That's not good. Please email the browser name and all details you can think of to support@intensedebate.com. Thanks!

  4. That's a great idea. We're going to put it in the devel schedule 🙂

  5. That'd be sweet… Some people like Jaiku or Pownce over Twitter, for good reasons. Why do you prefer Jaiku?

  6. OK Since yesterday a lot more of my users are complaining of time out issues from FF2 and 3. Then their comment comes through 3 times.

My Top 10 comments and recent comments widgets are dead in the water.

    HELP!

Upon trying to post this I got:

    Error!

    Invalid userid 0

  7. I'd like to see Jaiku integration similar to the Twitter integration.

  8. I was able to fix the recent comment widget by re-copy/pasting the widget. My number seems to have changed but I can not get the top 10 commenter widget to work.

    Any one else having issues?

  9. It's just who I originally signed up with (before Google bought them). I went with them because I liked the badges they had available to use on my WordPress blog better than the ones Twitter or Pownce have.

Had I known Google was going to buy them and close off new users, I probably would have gone with Pownce. Twitter is great, but it can be a tad bit confusing to new users. Simplicity is the key here.

  10. P.S. I keep uploading an avatar, but for some reason it's not being saved to my profile.

  11. Yeah that's what they say… Pownce is what Twitter should have been, but now Twitter is getting so big you have to prioritize it.

  12. Thanks for submitting your issue. This is the first we've heard of this. We're on it! Thanks for your patience.

  13. So the top 10 works again but as you can see the recent comments have disappeared.
